Introduction

Tell us something about yourself.

Kumar Shubham

I did my 10th and 12th from Bhagalpur itself. After Engineering, I did job at Howrah in a Cable Industry. Couple of years after the job i decided to opt for civil services and started preparing for it while i was working. My hobby is playing Cricket.

Questions related to your preparation:

Why did you choose civil services as your career and when did you first decide to appear in BPSC?

I think the job diversity in civil services was one of the reasons for choosing it. In other jobs my course of action would be limited to a single or couple of departments, unlike civil services.

It was during 4th year of my Engineering i realised to go for civil services. But due to sudden demise of my father, i did job in order to sustain the finances and improve my family’s condition.

Mention booklist and sources which you followed for mains General studies papers (section wise). Also add about your strategy for different sections of both GS papers.

Did you do answer writing regularly? If yes, what amount of time you devoted to it and how did it help you?

After preparing my notes,  i did not get much time for answer writing, but i was confident that once i read my answers i can write in examination.

But if u have time please do answer writing practice regularly. In limited time i gave about 5-6 mains mock in order to analyse my answer writing capacity within the given time.

Did you maintain self-notes? If yes, how did it help you?

Yes i made my own notes and thats the most important part of your preparation.Because notes in one’s own language will benefit you a lot at the last time revision, few days before the exam.

How previous years questions helped in exam?

Very helpful. The answers given in Crackingcivilservices were all ‘STANDARD’ ones, which greatly helped me in framing good answers.

For all subjects, PYQ’S are very important for BPSC and i would recommend Crackingcivilservices answers for it.They have very good points in their answers which covers all dimensions that are required.

How did crackingcivilservices.com benefitted you in your preparation of General Studies papers?

As i said earlier, they have very standard answers which helped me in covering all aspects of the questions. If anyone wants solutions for BPSC PYQ’S i would recommend going with Crackingcivilservices.

Any specific thing you want to share about your strategy for different sections of General Studies papers?

I think regular study is the most important part of this preperation. Also seeing the recent trend of BPSC, current affairs updation on daily basis is much needed because almost all sections of GS2 will be linked with current. So follow current daily and update your notes with possible data or points  provided in newspapers on daily basis.

What were the major questions asked in your Interview? If you can give brief overview of your interview?

1.My graduation year, and college.

  1. Situation Based – As a DSP what 5 things will u do in first 5 days of your joining.

Your joining is in communal riot area, what precaution will u

take.  How you can inform people about fake news and various other situation based related to DSP.

  1. Questions related to Indian flag ( colours, length& breadth ratio, designed by,, flag code)
  2. France has various time zones, but India has only one. Give reason
  3. Major Problems of Bihar ( mainly they asked in health – doctor pupil ratio, infrastructure challenges in health, total doctors in bihar )

6.Few women leaders from bihar,

  1. How engineering will help you in adminstration.. etc

What challenges did you face during your preparation journey?

Initially managing job and preparation was a challenge ( in later phase of my preperation i left job and focussed full time on preperation)

I faced lot of problems in finding and picking required lines from newspaper, so for that i followed you tube the hindu analysis ( Deepakyadav education cahnnel).

Answer writing skills with inclusion of required points was a challenge in initial phase ( Crackingcivilservices solutions helped a lot + bpsc pathshala mains mock analysis helped me to get rid of it)

Any message about the other aspirants?

For all the aspirants, i would like to say that this examination needs patience and dedication. You may get failure in initial phase but it is you who has to come out, learn from your own mistakes and overcome each and every obstacle and crack this examination. Believe me all u need is daily reading and continuous revisions.Make your own notes and update it regularly.

My Best wishes for all the aspirants. May God Bless all of you.
