Tell us something about yourself.  I am a resident of Muzaffarpur, Bihar . I did my schooling from a boarding school in Mussoorie and Graduation from MNNIT Allahabad in 2019 .

 

Questions related to your preparation:

Why did you choose civil services as your career and when did you first decide to appear in BPSC? 

Inspired by my Father who retired as Senior Personnel Officer in EC Railways in 2021 .

 

Mention booklist and sources which you followed for mains General studies papers (section wise). Also add about your strategy for different sections of both GS papers.

I solely relied on paid postal content of crackingcivilservices.com. Apart from this , I wrote past year papers in time bound conditions . Also I was thorough with daily newspapers like The Hindu and Indian Express ,  to cover Current Affairs .

Yes I did answer writing regularly . Wrote two full length tests per week in time bound conditions .

And never ignore the Reasoning and Aptitude section of Paper 1  – they are very scoring .

 

What were the major questions asked in your Interview? If you can give brief overview of your interview?  Basically around my hobbies – I mentioned about Football . Questions on why football is not so popular in India , challenges etc were asked . Also I was asked about the problem of LWE /Naxalism in India . Questions related to famous Anthropologists from Bihar were also asked . And finally questions like Why are u  switching from Engineering to civil services were also  asked .

 

What challenges did you face during your preparation journey? Biggest challenge was COVID 19 disruption on our studies . I was doing self study and often got demotivated due to delays in exam process. But the exam needs not just aptitude but also attitude based on hard work and perseverance .

 

Any message about the other aspirants? Key mantra to crack this exam is to solve previous year Qs in both Prelims and Mains stage . Additionally one needs thorough answer writing practice for Mains stage .  Finally , right attitude with aptitude can make this preparation easy and joyful .
